Mohar is a physical NFC tile made of stone. You place your phone on it and it triggers a focus automation on your device — silencing notifications, starting a timer, opening a playlist. It's a ritual object, not a gadget. Battery-free, subscription-free, permanently yours.

Mohar is crafted from natural stone with a matte finish and the मोहर mark engraved on the surface. The NFC chip (NXP NTAG216) is embedded inside. It's designed to sit on your desk and feel like it belongs there — not like a piece of tech.

No. The NFC chip is completely passive. It draws a tiny amount of power from your phone's NFC field when you tap, then does nothing the rest of the time. There is nothing to charge, replace, or maintain. Ever.

The NFC chip is rated for 100,000+ write cycles and unlimited read cycles. The stone will last your entire lifetime. As long as NFC exists in phones — which it will for decades — Mohar will work. There is no software to go out of date.

iPhone XS (2018) and all later models. This includes iPhone XS Max, XR, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and SE (2nd gen onwards). If you have an iPhone older than XS, it doesn't have NFC reading capability.

Any Android phone with NFC — which includes virtually all mid-range and flagship devices from 2016 onwards. If your phone supports Google Pay or contactless payments, it will work with Mohar. Go to Settings → search "NFC" to confirm.

Yes, in most cases. Standard plastic and silicone cases work fine. Very thick cases (>3mm) or metal cases may reduce read distance. If you have a metal case, you may need to remove it or hold the phone closer. Most phone users will have no issue.

It works with any NFC-enabled device. Most tablets don't have NFC, but if yours does, it will work. Computers typically don't have NFC readers without an external dongle.

On iPhone: tap Mohar with your phone, follow the link that appears. It will guide you through setting up an Apple Shortcut that runs on every subsequent tap. On Android: tap Mohar, it opens a setup page where you can configure NFC Tools or Google Home routines. The whole process takes under 3 minutes.

Anything your phone can automate: enable Do Not Disturb, start a focus timer, open Spotify and play a playlist, launch a specific app, set your status in Slack, start a Pomodoro session, dim your screen, or any combination. If your phone can do it, Mohar can trigger it.

Yes. The NFC tag is fully rewritable. You can update the automation any time by editing your Shortcut (iPhone) or your NFC Tools / Google Home routine (Android). Nothing is locked.

No. Mohar works entirely with native phone features. The Mohar Companion App is optional and offers additional features like session tracking, usage stats, and guided focus routines. The core product works without it.

Anywhere you'll naturally reach for it. Most people place it top-left or top-right of their keyboard. The ritual is: you pick up your phone, tap Mohar, set your phone face-down. The location should make that flow feel natural.
